Job Overview
Innovative Solutions currently has a position available for a Network Engineer. This is an advanced consulting position for a Subject Matter Expert with 5 plus years of experience in IT Networking. Candidate must have the ability to work in a fast paced changing environment while managing multiple projects. Proven project management discipline and account management methods will be leveraged in this multiple project and multiple customer environment . This position will design, configure, install, troubleshoot and maintain network equipment including firewalls, routers, switches and wireless deployments on Innovative Solutions customer networks. This is a consulting role where you’re empowered to manage your own billable time, manage our projects to profitability and obtain excellent client satisfaction simultaneously.

Technical Skills and Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent
- Certifications: CCNA required, CCNP as a plus
- Experience: Minimum 5 years within a network troubleshooting role, VOIP experience a plus
- Systems: Windows, Cisco
- Networking: Switches, Routers, Servers, Cabling, Racks, Firewalls, Wireless, VPN, LAN, WAN, Latency, VoIP, QoS
- Protocols: TCP/IP, UDP, EIGRP, OSPF, ATM, PPP, MPLS, DNS
Key Responsibilities:
Network Support
- Configure, install, and troubleshoot network equipment
- Design and engineer customer network solutions meeting committed business requirements
- Troubleshoot networking issues on-site at customer locations throughout Upstate NY
- Manage team of networking technical staff, including mentoring, training, and certification planning
- Consult with customers on ISP and VOIP vendor selection and walk them through the selection and implementation process. Consultation includes a full business and technical needs assessment and implementation meets all agreed measurable objectives.
- Monitors and maintains network stability and security for multiple customers
- Monitors network performance and implement performance tuning
- Network assessments with documentation and recommendations
- Calls software and hardware vendors to request service regarding defective products

- Maintain vendor relationships
- Writes software and hardware evaluation and recommendation for management review
- Writes or revises user training manuals and procedures
- Make recommendations to management regarding equipment, policies, procedures, and technology as it relates to networking
